Serving patients seeking cataracts surgery, ReSTOR, ReZoom, Crystalens in Colorado Springs and the surrounding area

Matthew Chang, MD, is a highly respected, board-certified ophthalmologist who received advanced training at the prestigious Kresge Eye Institute. Specializing in cataract eye surgery, corneal transplants and glaucoma laser surgery, Dr. Chang is deeply committed to providing his patients with exceptional care and results by utilizing the most advanced technologies and latest surgical techniques. He is considered one of the foremost authorities on cataract surgery in Colorado and has conducted numerous research studies in the areas of cataract surgery, refractive surgery and glaucoma.

For cataract surgery, Dr. Chang uses the "no-needle, no-stitch, no-patch" procedure, a minimally invasive surgery that utilizes premium intraocular lens implants with accommodative and multifocal technology. He begins the procedure by using anesthetic eye drops and then makes a small, self-sealing incision in the eye through which he breaks apart and removes the clouded lens. Once the cataract is removed, Dr. Chang replaces the lens with a top-of-the-line premium intraocular lens implant (IOL). At the Buckley Chang Eye Institute, his state-of-the-art facility in Colorado Springs, Dr. Chang offers patients several premium IOLs, including Crystalens, an accommodating lens that moves with the eye's muscles to help patients focus from near to distant objects; and ReZoom and ReSTOR, multifocal lenses that, like the Crystalens, treat nearsightedness and age-related farsightedness.
