The refractive cataract surgery team at Campus Eye Group specializes in small-incision cataract surgery, as well as lens implantation using the latest microsurgical techniques. They perform cataract surgery with phacoemulsification, a leading-edge technique that allows vision correction surgeons to remove the patient's clouded eye lens without the need for anesthetic injections. The talented cataract surgeons at Campus Eye Group start cataract surgery by creating a small, self-sealing incision in the eye. Next, they use ultrasound technology to break up and remove the clouded lens (cataract) and insert an artificial intraocular lens implant (IOL) through the same incision. IOLs are the latest breakthrough in the field of cataract surgery and are designed to replace the eye's natural lens, thus restoring vision without the need for glasses and/or contact lenses. Cataract surgeons at Campus Eye Group offer a number of premium IOLs that can correct for presbyopia, astigmatism and a number of other conditions.
