Braverman Eye Center Summer SpecialsStanley Braverman, MD, FACS, is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery. The inventor of several innovative eye surgery instruments, Dr. Braverman is also a sought-after lecturer who has been invited to numerous medical conferences to discuss his advanced techniques. He trains surgical residents at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, where he serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor. Dr. Braverman has performed cataract surgery on well-known personalities such as professional golfer Gary Player.

Dr. Braverman offers small-incision cataract surgery, an advanced technique that can be used to treat patients with nearsightedness, farsightedness and presbyopia. It is performed by making a small incision in the eye, removing the clouded lens, and replacing it with a premium IOL. Patients can choose from several IOLs, including AcrySof ReSTOR, Tecnis Multifocal and the accommodating Crystalens. These lenses help Miami cataract surgery patients switch focus between objects at various distances.

IOLs can also be used to help presbyopic patients who do not need cataract surgery. Dr. Braverman offers a procedure called presbyopic refractive lensectomy for these patients. This procedure utilizes the latest IOL technology to help patients see objects both near and far, eliminating the need for glasses and contacts.

"Before surgery, I couldn't see because my cataracts had gotten so bad. I found myself staying home a lot. After my first surgery, I opened my eyes and I saw immediately! The colors were amazing. After my second cataract was done, I could not believe how beautiful everything was! It was like everything was new! With these upgraded multifocal implants, I see and feel like a kid. I am blessed to have Dr. Braverman as my surgeon. The office and surgical experience were wonderful." —Anna Ross

"When I came to Dr. Braverman I could not see very well. I was very afraid I was going blind! I received an examination that covered every aspect of my eyes. After receiving all of the results, Dr. Braverman explained the results of my tests in detail and then he gave me his professional advice. He gave me choices and together we decided what was best for me. I was well informed and able to make a logical decision! The surgery day was the most wonderful day of my life. I now feel and see as if I am 25 years old again. I can see without glasses, even to read! In fact, the day after my surgery, I danced a jig for Dr. Braverman at his office. My life is wonderful!!! Thank you, Dr. Braverman!!!" —Debra Ford
