Cataract Surgeon in Jacksonville Serving patients seeking laser cataract surgery in Jacksonville and the surrounding area.

Patients seeking cataract surgery in Jacksonville trust the fellowship-trained ophthalmologists at Bowden Eye & Associates to provide custom vision correction treatment. Frank W. Bowden, III, MD, FACS, and Sarah Darbandi, MD, are highly sought after for their eye care expertise. Jacksonville Magazine selected Dr. Bowden as a "Top Doctor" four times and recognized him as the Best Doctor of 2006 and 2007. Dr. Bowden serves as the official ophthalmologist of the National Football League's Jacksonville Jaguars and arena football's Jacksonville Sharks. Both Dr. Bowden and Dr. Darbandi have advanced fellowship training in cornea and refractive surgery. Together with their staff, Drs. Bowden and Darbandi are dedicated to delivering exceptional ophthalmic care with outstanding vision correction results.

Dr. Bowden, Dr. Darbandi and their team provide leading-edge "micro-incision, nostitch" laser cataract surgery with premium intraocular lens implants (IOLs). To begin cataract removal surgery, the eye surgeon creates a self-sealing incision in the eye. In a technique called phacoemulsification, the ophthalmologist next uses ultrasound energy to break up and irrigate the eye's cataractous (cloudy) lens. He or she then extracts the cataract-diseased lens through the initial incision. The eye surgeon replaces the diseased lens with an IOL to restore clear vision. Bowden Eye & Associates offer a wide variety of premium IOLs, such as Crystalens, multifocal lenses and toric lenses designed to correct astigmatism. For those patients that desire the latest in cataract surgery technology, Bowden Eye is proud to offer Victus femtosecond laser technology. Refractive outcomes are improved by the lasers' consistent platform.

Cataract removal surgery is a painless procedure performed under topical anesthesia. Patients who undergo cataract surgery with Dr. Bowden or Dr. Darbandi are able to achieve clear vision at various distances, and in many cases, greatly decrease their dependence on prescription eyewear.

Aside from custom cataract surgery, Bowden Eye & Associates provide LASIK surgery, conductive keratoplasty, crosslinking for keratoconus, dry eye treatment, glaucoma treatment, management of diabetic eye conditions and general eye care services.
