Avery D. Alexander, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has dedicated his practice to vision correction and sight-restoring refractive surgery. He has more than 20 years of experience performing thousands of successful LASIK and cataract surgery procedures, earning him a reputation for excellence, not only in the Appleton and Green Bay areas, but nationwide as well.
Dr. Alexander performs the advanced "no-needle, no-stitch, no-patch" approach to cataract surgery, one of the most advanced vision correction techniques available, which restores patients' vision almost immediately. After applying anesthetic eye drops, Dr. Alexander makes a tiny, self-sealing opening in the surface of the cornea through which he is able to dissolve and remove the clouded lens or cataract. To restore vision, he then inserts a premium intraocular lens (IOL) implant selected specifically for each individual patient, choosing from leading manufacturers such as Alcon, Abbott Medical Optics (AMO) and Bausch and Lomb. He offers several advanced IOLs at his practice, including the accommodating Crystalens and the multifocal ReSTOR and ReZoom IOLs.
In addition to cataract surgery, Dr. Alexander uses this same advanced technique to perform PermaClear Sight Restoration, a procedure that effectively treats presbyopia (age-related farsightedness). PermaClear eliminates the need for reading glasses and also prevents the development of cataracts.
At Alexander Eye Institute, Dr. Alexander also performs a wide array of advanced vision correction procedures, including UltraSight LASIK, conductive keratoplasty (CK), PRK and other refractive surgeries. The institute features a state-of-the-art surgical suite equipped with some of the most sophisticated medical laser technology available. Dr. Alexander and his entire team are committed to delivering unsurpassed results with the personal attention and compassionate care you deserve.
